San Diego photo journal and review and Hiro pic

Hi everyone,

A huge thank you to all those that trampled our booth and bought all our stuff. And of course thank you to all those that came by just to say hi as well!

San Diego Comicon was a huge success and we really appreciate all the love and support.

Each year the San Diego Comicon has been a life changing experience and this time was no different.

Here's a little photo scrap book of our trip.
time for our favorite: nachos at Chillis! yumm..

This was taken on Tuesday. The day before preview night we hung out at Mission Beach

There were some really great characters there! Where's my sketchbook when I need it?

Our talented intern Lisa playing in the sand. Way to go Lisa! Good job at digging those holes! hehehe...

Oh... that's what she was doing! Kei and Lisa made some cute Totoros in the sand!

Rollercoasters by the beach. The fun never stops.

Preview night on Wednesday didn't start until 5pm so we spent the day by the pool at the Hotel.

And so the mad rush of Comicon begins...

They like our stuff thank God!

Kei's vinyl toy (made by our friends at MindStyle! Coming soon... these were only for display.

Party and live paintings at Munky King

Other highlights of the trip included hanging out with the very talented Dice Tsutsumi, Peter Nguyen, and the rest of the Flight/Bluesky gang, Donnachada Daly, Gabriele Pennacchioli, Michael Knapp, Doug Sneyd, Heidi, Cheeks, Bill Presing, Ikumi and our family: Stephen Silver, Alberto Ruiz and Jason Seiler.

We also were happy to see again Alena Wooten, Born, Alina Chau, Stan Sakai, Everett Downing, Aaron Hartline, Kevin Dart, Pascal Campion, Ronnie del Carmen, Arthur Suydam, Martin Hsu, Vin, Humberto Ramos, Francisco Herrera, Gary Ham, Louie del Carmen, Octavio and many more.

We also met for the first time in person William Wray, Justin Sweet, Scott Campbell, Nathan Fowkes, Ryan Wood, Todd Harris, the artists from Portland Studios, and many more... If I missed you I apologize...

It was also great to see so many of my students there! Andrea, Tapan, Mark S, Vivian, Dave, Francis, Brittney...

One big highlight that made me completely geek out was meeting Masi Oka.
This is a piece I did for Jason Seiler's Caricature book [link]

It's Hiro Nakamura from one of my favorite tv shows: Heroes! I happen to eat at the same place Masi Oka (Hiro) a couple of days ago and I showed him the painting and he was kind enough to sign it for me. Yay! Thank you to Heidi Silver for forcing me to introduce myself.

Can't wait for the new season.

Just Clicking Along...

Good Tuesday Evening Everyone....I hope this post finds everyone doing well tonight!! I had a wonderful weekend of ART creating this past weekend!!! Was able to spend most of Saturday and all of Sunday in my ART Studio and I just loved it...very relaxing....

I was working on 2 swaps I'm involved in on 2 different yahoo groups! The first was an Iris Folding swap with the theme being Breezy Dress....here's my creation if interested!!!

The 2nd Swap I'm involved in is a House ATC....this one was very challenging for me but I truly
enjoyed it once I figured out my design in my head!!!

Monday sure came quickly!! I can't believe Summer is just about over...though I must admit I am ready for Fall.....I'm invisioning brisk days with me in my ART Studio with my coffee, sweatshirt, houseshoes and ART supplies....ahhhhhhh, how relaxing that sounds...ooops...guess I do need to add in there some time for hubby and my boys!!! :)

Can't believe in 1 week from today my baby will be starting High School!!! My how time flies!! Seems just yesterday I brought him home from the hospital!!! A couple of weeks ago we celebrated his 14th birthday with a group of his friends and one of his favorite teachers from middle school "crashed" the party as she said!!! Here's a pic of the majority of the kids that came to the part and their favorite teacher!!!

My baby is the 3rd from the left!! They had such a blast and what a wonderful group of kids!!!

Well, guess that's about it for me tonight...I want to thank you for stopping by..come again soon please...until then, have a wonderful evening and terrific tomorrow and a blessed life in Christ!

Summer heat

We're having the most wonderful weather! I love it! And how lucky am I - I'm working like a maniac yet I get to be in the sunshine everyday. Fantastic.

I don't understand how people can work in an office Monday to Friday, 8-5 all year round. Go for lunch and do their shopping on that petty lunch hour. It nearly killed me - yet I only did it for a year! Never ever will I do that kind of work again. Never.

These days, I go to work either early morning or in the afternoon. If the weather is nice we pack a pickninck or light the BBQ on the veranda when it's time for lunch and then do pretty much the same in the evening. The days I have too much paper work to deal with to come along to the residents fun I grab a wireless phone, the piles of paperwork and sit in the garden whilst the staff and residents go off on their daily adventures.

How lucky I am!

What the hell?!

Miley Cyrus Ready To Grow Up And Strip Down

Miley Cyrus is anxious to be done with childhood and move on to move “adult” things - like taking off all her clothes in a movie.

The 15-year-old Hannah Montana star is rumored to be interested in the lead role in “Undiscovered Gyrl,” the film version of Allison Burnett’s new novel.

An insider said that the controversy over her sexy Vanity Fair shoot has had the intended affect: to make Miley look older and more mature.

“I challenge you to show me a child star who really made the transition to adulthood smoothly,” says one source. “Miley doesn’t have plans to leave showbiz any time soon, and to get that big ‘grown-up’ part, she needs to start looking like a grownup. That shoot helped.”

The source says if Cyrus did take the part, you’d be seeing a lot more of Cyrus than what appeared in the Vanity Fair photos.

“There would definitely be nude scenes,” says the source.
