Some One Call Tripple AAA!

please Call Triple AAA!

Winter is closing in...

Today it was really cold and I couldn't help but think that winter is on it's way...

I hate winter. I really really do. I refuse to go outdoors unless I really have to.

But tonight I found this video from last winter when I was out running with my dad's dogs in the forest up north. Sometimes - but only sometimes - winter can be pretty awesome too...

Suggestions this way please!

I need to buy a new laptop.

My next laptop must have the following criteria:

maximum a 14" screen
maximum 2 kg weight
wireless built in
bluetooth/IR port
built in web cam
Cd/dvd burner

I will not buy another Acer (which my current computer is). I'm thinking of getting one of the below:

Sony Vaio (expensive, but I like...)
iBook Mac (don't like the mac as much as PCs but people tell me they're better)
Dell (noone I know dislikes a Dell)

But truth be told I haven't got a clue what to get! SO PLEASE SUGGEST A GOOD LITTLE LAPTOP TO ME! WHAT SHOULD I GET?

I'm in desperate need of help here.

Russian Cops

Good Lookking Russian Cops

Happy Saturday....

I hope you are all enjoying your long weekend!! It's been very nice so far for me....After taking my youngest to Nashville (actually met in Hopkinsville for the trade off) my hubby and I ate at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants for dinner....Very good as usual....We made it back home about 8:00 p.m. and I came directly into my ART Studio to play!!! I had fun reworking the Christmas card I was working on and added some crayon paper corners to the card as well as creating an accompanying envelope with a strip of my crayon paper on it and the words stamped on it with Versa Ink....turned out very nicely!!! I like this look better, the card looks more complete......finally layed my head on the pillow around midnight......

Then this morning when I got up I had the below listed design on my mind......I used cardstock layered over with aluminum foil...then used my sizzix and an embossing sleeve to emboss the aluminum.....This turned out SO nicely!!! The rest of the card came together quite well too....The flower is a combination of the twall paper, pearlized paper, faux flower petal, alchol paper, crayon leaves and a brad.....I think it adds the perfect touch to the card......

I also had to make a matching envelope....I LOVE to have my envelopes match my card....I just think it makes it complete!!!

I've completed my grocery shopping today and it's amazing how just a few craft items happened to hop into my cart!!! It's like I can't control them!!! LOL

Now I get to play for the remainder of the evening.....what to do what to do!!!

So, I've been playing and playing all evening.......I have created the below card using a coffee filter, crayon paper, pearlized paper, cardstock RS' of course and some Pearl Ex Mist I made up today......It turned out cool....First is a picture of the card and the accompanying envelope....second picture is a close up so you can see how awesome the Pearl Ex Mist shows a shimmer on the coffee filter!! I LOVE this effect!!!

Now I also must share this.....I was wanting an envelope that would accent the card.....so I decided to take a copy of one of my crayon sheets I had made......duplicate flip, duplicate flip and continued that til I covered the entire 11x17 area on my page (I did this all digitally) then I printed it out!!! OMG....It's GORGEOUS!!! Take a look at the envelope and then below is the whole sheet I created!!! I am SO proud of this and will be DEFINATELY making more of these!!!!

I am surely keeping the people in the south in my prayers as this terrible hurricane makes its path....I have a VERY dear sweet friend that is preparing to evacuate her home for safer area.....just waiting on the word for her postman hubby to be able to leave......They were hit with Faye just a few weeks ago and also Katrina 3 years ago!! I commend her cause I know I couldn't handle what she does......I just pray they and everyone is safe!!!!

Thank you for stopping by...I hope you come and visit me again soon!!! Until then, I pray you all have a very blessed and safe evening!!!

more cat talk - beware

I know some of you are getting bored with all the cat talk here on my blog. But seeing today is my boys 3rd birthday (HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIF AND TYLOR!) I think I'm allowed to dedicate another few lines to them:

Having indoor cats are proving to be quite a lot different to having outdoor ones (which my previous babies have been).

First and foremost my previous cats haven't been interested in toys at all. If real mice, rats and birds didn't count, of course. But these two boys looooove their toys!

Kif's favourite is a plastic stick with a bunch of feathers at the top. Sometimes he picks it up and places it in my lap (now there's a hint if there ever was one) and seems to be saying "please play with me!" which I'm always happy to oblige to.

Tylor loves a little laser tourch. It turns into a little red spot on the surface shone on, and Tylor loves chasing the little red spot back and forwards, round and round. It amazes me slightly as he obviously never catches it... But each to their own, as they say.

Also these cats love company in a way my previous ones hasn't. I know part of it is because of their breed, but I also reckon it's to do with the fact that they can't go outside and play. And it is truely wonderful to be greeted by two cats as I opend the door after a long day at work. To have a cat in my lap and one on my shoulder constantly. To have company when making the bed, when doing the dishes, lying in the bath or watering the plants. Tylor sleeps in my lap as I watch TV and Kif sleeps on top of me at night. They are faithful companions.

This morning (read middle of day) Kif got annoyed with me sleeping too long. After numerous attempts of waking me up he jumped up on the window sill and pushed one of my plantpots on to the floor.

I saw him doing it. We even had eye contact as he did it. He placed one paw on the window and the other on the plant pot and pushed. Slowly and deliberately.

I have always said the cats can to anything they want in my flat as long as they leave my plants alone... But I couldn't help but laugh, turned around and fell asleep again. Kif gave up and came into bed with me.

I guess we could say we both won that battle. But quite frankly they could get away with murder. I just love them too much to get annoyed!

It's FRIDAY!!!

Yippie, I'm excited....aren't you!!! It's been a busy week for me......I am SO proud to say I sold the crocheted purse I shared with you all earlier in the week....I made a closure for it and it looked very nice when I mailed it out......It's winging it's way to it's recipient!! I've gotten addicted to making crayon papers and just love love love them!! Well I had a friend who asked me if I had any diecuts of leaves cause they would made wonderful Fall leaves.....I didn't...until Yesterday!! I raked in some goodies at Michaels with the 40% coupon of fyour ENTIRE purchase!! I was doing the happy dance out to my car after I got my treasures!!

They admitted Michael's had done a misprint but they are definately honoring the coupons......they last until August 30th....they did have to key each item separately but hey, who cares when you get 40% off, right!!

ANYWAY.....back to my story.....I found these awesome leave dies and just had to have them...so I made up some crayon paper this morning and had to give them a whirl!!! See whatcha think...

I've also been wanting to make up some Christmas card sets for my store......So I came up with this design first...will be doing different ones...but like the look of this one.....it's the only one I've done so far....BUT, I have an ENTIRE weekend to play!!! I will also be making accompanying envelopes to compliment the card and stamp a phrase on the inside...

I took a close up of it so you can see the glitter of snow on the roof tops!!

Today it's one more day of work.....But I don't mind...I have an awesome family company I work for....I got to do the happy dance yesterday there too.....They purchased me (for work) 2 17" wide screen monitors so I could have double the work space for all the programs I have to use at one time....makes it SO nice.....and fun to do my work...and I get to surf the net when I want!!!

Tonight my youngest goes to Nashville for the weekend...but we get him back Sunday so we can have a total lazy day on Monday!!! Yippie for me!!! :) This has been a wonderful week and I've so enjoyed sharing it with you all.....I pray you all have a VERY safe and fun Holiday weekend.....OMG, Can you believe it's time for FALL!!! I'm SO ready....I just LOVE Fall colors and cozying up in the house with my lazy clothes, house shoes, coffee and ART Studio!!!! Sounds like a dream to me!!

Please be sure to come visit with me again...until then, everyone have a VERY blessed day!!

good and bad

"Always start with the bad news" my dad used to say to me. So here goes:

I got my computer back today. It's been working fine whilst in the hands of my fab friend who knows computers. But within a minute LITERALLY in my hands this evening it decided to shut down. And continued to do so 5 times within an hour.

I was ready to cry. It's like I am poisonous - I touch a computer and it breaks. I phoned my brother who very matter of factly told me to buy a new one. And I might just do that. And kill that one too, if I know myself. :-(

But luckily I had some good news this evening. I'm one step closer to moving. As a matter of fact I've already got a date for the move!!! 30th September, so we'd better get packing, my boys and I! :-)

Carmen Electra injured in fight with Kim Kardashian

The former Baywatch actress was left scarred following the raunchy fight she has with Kim in the new spoof film Disaster Movie.

She said: "I'd met Kim, but I really got to know her in our wrestling scene. There's hair pulling and I hurt my back and got some burn marks. But it's also sexy. We're sort of playing with the idea that guys get turned on by girls wrestling.

"We get into some down and dirty positions, so it's a good thing we became friends. Kim is so cool, not to mention being hot!"

Carmen also revealed despite her glamorous persona, she lives a normal life and does not always maintain her immaculate appearance.

She added to Parade.com: "I've sort of created that image, but it's definitely a part of who I am. One of the big misconceptions about me is that I walk around in mini-skirts and high heels twenty-four seven and go to the gym in heels.

"When people see me dressed normally, they can't believe it. It's really weird. But if I didn't have a sexy side, I wouldn't have done Playboy magazine and I wouldn't have done Baywatch and a lot of other things."

Eva Mendes proud of nipple shot

US actress Eva Mendes says she couldn't be prouder of her controversial TV ad banned because it showed too much of her nipple.

The Hollywood star, who was in Sydney today to launch the 30 Days of Fashion and Beauty event, has been causing a stir over the Calvin Klein perfume ads.

"It makes me more proud," Mendes said, referring to the ban on the ad.

The Ghost Rider star has done a number of nude shoots over the years, but said she was not worried the latest would overshadow her acting career.

"I'm sure if it was for some kind of independent brand that wasn't as iconic as Calvin Klein I don't think I would have done it because that's too much of a risk," Mendes said.

"But when its Calvin Klein and it's (fashion photographer) Steve Meisel shooting you and you get to be a part of this amazing iconic brand and their legacy you just kind of go for it."

The ad, which shows Mendes rolling around in a bed with a sheet wrapped around her, has been banned in the US, UK and Australia.

Mendes said Americans were too uptight about nudity when they were happy enough to have so much violence in movies.

Wearing a black dress by Hong Kong designer John Rocha and skyhigh Yves Saint Laurent patent purple heels, Mendes praised "easygoing" Australians and said she loved Australian designers like Willow, Collette Dinnigan and Sass and Bide.

"I love comfort and ease. I think you Aussies are great at that," she said.

"I just love casual chic."

Mendes admitted she didn't like to shop and thought it was fine to wear a dress to an event twice.

"I hate to shop," she said.

"I like to walk by the store and have something catch my eye and then go in. But I don't like to do the whole hour long ... I'm not a girl girl in that way."

Mendes will hit the red carpet tomorrow night in Sydney as an ambassador at the launch of the the ACP Magazines festival, which will see a number of fashion and beauty events over the next month.
