ABC has set the premiere date for Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition for Monday, May 30 (10/9c) following The Bachelorette, Entertainment Weekly reports.
Each episode of Weight Loss Edition chronicles a year in the life of an obese person who sets out to lose half their body weight. (In Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, host Ty Pennington surprises a family in need of a new home with just that.)
Trainer Chris Powell, who works on TLC's The 650-Pound Virgin, will help coach those being documented.
Reps for the new ABC series did not immediately respond to TVGuide.com's request for comment.
