night terrors

For about a month I've had really bad nightmares every single night. This makes me wake up feeling exhausted and upset most of the time. Other times I don't remember the dreams straight away, but can later in the day sit in a meeting and suddenly remember what "my boss said to me", ask her if this was true only to then find out I've dreamt it.

Last night I had a very vivid dream. I was going on holiday with a friend and was waiting by the harbour for the ferry to arrive. The ferry/boat appeared outside the window and then sank. People got off into the lifeboats and a bit later came walking into the waiting area where me and my friend were sitting.

At the end of the line four men in marine suits were carrying a huge life boat. In the life boat were dead people - people who'd drowned in the accident. Some were just looking lifeless. Others were missing body parts, had worms crawling in and out of their noses/eye sockets etc.

Then it was time for us to get on the boat which had sunk, as they had managed to tow it. I didn't want to. Body parts were still floating around on deck!

No bloody wonder I feel tired during the days. The night before last I dreamt I got accused to have stolen 2,4 million pounds. It was so vivid I woke up crying thinking I was never going to get my named cleared.

I wonder what's going on? I wonder how long it will go on? Because I'm tired and fed up with these night time thrillers.

Troubles Between Paula And Kara

There's troubles-a-brewin’ behind the scenes between Paula Abdul and Kara DioGuardi!

This morning Paula told Ok! magazine that she wasn’t exactly pleased with Kara joining the show this season saying : "Kara and I have known each other for years and we get along great. But we tried four judges before and it doesn't work."

Then Paula proceeded to almost diss American Idol itself, and was almost acting as if she was better than the program.

Needless to say, Kara was not pleased with Paula’s comments. She told Access Hollywood, “Paula has a right to her opinions, but I was disappointed by her comments, and hurt that she did not address them to me in person.”

busy bee

What a week this has been! And it's not even over yet!

Yesterday I had to go into work a few hours earlier than planned. The reason for this was due to my colleague being signed off sick. She had an important meeting with her staff grop booked in, and so I stepped in to cover for her.

After that meeting I rushed off to my own staff meeting. As usual things got a little heated and I had to calm one member of staff down after the palaver.

I had time to run off and put the coffee on whilst scuffing a banana before heading off to the next meeting:

At three o'clock I had an appointment with the head of medical delegations. She came to check I do my job properly, know the laws and regulations of handling medications, inspect the bookkeeping over given meds etc etc. It was nervvrecking.

The meeting took three hours! And she must have asked me 50 questions. Considering I had been working from 7 am and only had a banana and humongous amounts of coffee in my stomach it wasn't surprising I felt tired and shaky. It was a relief when she finally decided to end the meeting.

I got home, feeling a bit guilty that the cats had been on their own for so long. As a special treat I'd bought them a tin of cat food - expensive rabbit flavoured stuff in jelly. I've never bough my cats anything like it before...

... The cats got wild with excitement when I opened the tin and the aroma spread around the flat. I gave them a bowl each.

Tylor sniffed it. Sniffed it again and walked off. Disguisted.
Kif - who eats everything - sniffed it. Dipped his tounge in the jelly. Then he looked at me before walking off. So much for that treat!

Today we've seen more of eachother, but tomorrow they will be home alone again. I won't waste my money on another tin tomorrow night, but insted will treat them to a long lie in on Friday. I'm sure we will all enjoy it!

Happy Birthday Sketches!

On the NCN forum Jan Op De Beeck started a "Sketch a Day" thread or "threads" I should say. Every Day is of course some one's birthday, so Jan has been posting birthday's of "famous" people and then that person is sketched by whoever feels like joining in. I'm in the middle of a large and somewhat complicated painting for GOLF magazine as well as a few other projects, so my personal sketching time is dwindling a bit. I still try to find time here and there to squeeze in a sketch or two a day if I can manage it. So last night I peaked in on the NCN forum and saw that it is Fats Domino's birthday on Feb 26th! So last night while watching a strange movie with my wife, I did this quick sketch. Happy birthday Fats!

Good news for all of the guys! Megan Fox just broke up with fiance Brian Austin Green.

According to a report, the "Transformers" babe and her beau have bid their relationship adieu.

An inside source reveals, "The relationship had run its course. It’s completely amicable, and they are remaining friends." Brian and Megan got engaged back in November of 2006.

Oscar Awards Night 2009 Live Video Coverage

It's just hours away before the 81st Academy Awards Night will be televised live at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, California. If you want to watch the Oscar Awards 2009 live awarding ceremony then you should know by now that the program will exactly start at 5PT/8ET and will be televised live on ABC channel.

Hosting the ceremonies is none other than our favorite hunk actor Hugh Jackman together with the other Hollywood stars who will be their to witness the honoring of some of the best movies of the year 2008. Many are already looking for ways to watch Oscar Awards 2009 live so better stay tuned in this blog cause we will be posting the video of the awarding event live as soon as the streaming feed comes in.

down under

Last night my friend and I went to see Australia at the pictures.

As much as I had wanted to see it I dreaded the fact that it is nearly three hours long. But it was sooooo worth it! A perfect Friday movie - I had a few "have-to-close-my-eyes-cause-it's-getting-too-scary"-moments, lots of laughs and shedded quite a few tears too.

Then we went back to mine, and on the way picked up a greek take away which was lovely.

Funnily enough watching the movie made me think about my time in Australia. I never had a chance to actually SEE the country. I studied, met people, was out and about in Sydney and the Blue mountains... I spent many months there, but never once had the opportunity to feel and breathe the country.

I would love to go back on my own terms and conditions. Just explore without having medical exams hanging over me, without a student's empty purse and without the broken heart I suffered so badly from whilst there.

I've been looking through my photoalbum from my time in Australia tonight. I haven't looked in it for over a year. As bad as my time there was I am forever grateful that I got to meet such wonderful people.

You know who you are. Thank you for everything!

T-Pain for KING Magazine

This was the fourth painting that I did for KING magazine, and just like Kanye and Jim Jones, I didn't know who T-Pain was or anything about him for that matter. For this illustration, the a.d. wanted something futuristic and space-like. Being that this is a full page illustration, I would have liked to have had more time to develop this idea and explore T-Pain's character a little more. But again, for the time given, I'm happy with it. After finishing the Jim Jones, Kanye, and Wire paintings, I had four days left to complete this T-Pain painting.

Crazy: Man Choked His Wife To Death During Sex

A British man is accused of STRANGLING his wife to death during sex .

Here’s how the UK paper the Daily Mail is reporting it:

Colin Scully, 53, denies murdering Tracey, 39, but previously admitted to police that he had strangled her after she shouted the name 'Paul' during a moment of passion at their home in April last year.

He said he believed his wife was referring to Paul Deighton — a man they met at a scooter club to whom she had been sending explicit text messages

Here’s how dude allegedly told on himself:

In his interview with police, [Colin] said: ‘I strangled her, didn’t I?’

James Sampson, prosecuting, said : “He denied meaning to have killed her, but what else could he have meant?”

'He knelt on her chest, causing bruising, and pinned her down crucifix-style to the bed, where he strangled her using one arm,' he added.

A post-mortem revealed that Mrs Scully died as a result of compression to the neck.

Some of y’all better start putting up CUE CARDS on the headboard … cause a slip up could be DEADLY!!!

The Wire for KING Magazine

This is another painting I did for the same issue of KING Magazine. I really enjoyed working on this piece. It was a little challenging because in order to finish the four paintings within the time frame given, I had to work on all four of them at the same time. I worked on the Kanye and Jim Jones at once and then gave myself three days to finish The Wire painting, all while working on the last and final painting of T-Pain. This Wire painting will print on the bottom half of a page and will print a bit small in comparison to the size I painted it. Another challenge with the time given was painting three people together in a car at night . . . and to make them feel as if they're all in the same place at the same time. It was also important to capture the feel of an urban night scene while not seeing any of the city in the background. It was a fun challenge to tackle in only three days. I would have liked a little more time for detail, especially on the car, but for the time given, I'm happy with the end result.

Celebrity: Victoria Beckham comes back to LA for Cruz's Birthday

After a quick stop over at Fashion Week,Victoria Beckham was already on her way back to the West Coast earlier today. Last night she looked hot in her short sparkly number at the Armani store opening party,where she explained why she's jetting out of NYC so quickly.She said,"I have to leave here tomorrow and go home. It’s [Cruz's] birthday. He said, ‘It’s my birthday after Fashion Week’. I’m training him well." Fashion may be one of Victoria's first loves, but it doesn't come before Cruz's very important fourth birthday.

this morning

I had the morning off today. My phone was swithched off and no alarm clock was set. I woke up around 9 am only to fall asleep again.

Kif and Tylor are getting very fond of these mornings I don't get out of bed straight away: Kif climbs on top of me and Tylor squeezes in somewhere on my legs (preferably with a paw or two on my hand if he can reach).

I have been thinking how nice it would be to document our mornings in bed, and last night I remembered to put the camera on the bedside table...

1. Kif and Tylor have noticed I'm awake. Kif climbs up on my hip and Tylor is here just about to make himself cosy.
(And yes, that IS a hideous pyjamas I'm wearing, but it is dead comfy!)

2. Tylor has had a bit of a cuddle and is getting bored. Chasing his brother's tail is always fun!

3. Hmmm... No reaction? Perhaps my owner will give me some attention and something to chase?

4. Kif is paying nooooo attention to his childish brother. He just purrs away on my hip (with his elbows digging into my hipbone and ALWAYS giving me bruises. But who cares when you have a gorgeous cat giving you love?)
