It was that time of the year again when Manila's most stylish people were gathered to witness the unveiling of the newest collections of the country's most talented fashion designers. It was Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2011.
I decided not to post photos of each show, unlike what I used to. Well, because, first: I'm too lazy to go through each photo, crop, and edit them; second, I didn't really feel the hype of the week then (aging, I guess). So above are some random photos I took last week. Overall, I definitely enjoyed Oxygen's collection. Awesome clothes plus great music by the Misshapes equals effin epic show! (okay, that was a bit exaggerated) Felt sad I didn't come to Oxygen's afterparty though. There were some impressive designers and there were some who I felt like designing for a local gay contest. no offense. Some of these amazing designers were Jerome Salaya Ang (who refused to use fashion week's official make up partner L'Oreal, because apparently, he had some prostetics on to his models. cool! haha), Kermit Tesoro, Bang Pineda, Martin Bautista, Mike Lavarez, Veejay Floresca, and a lot more actually. Among the retail brands, Oxygen's collection really boomed me. A mix of different types of fabrics, all in black cut in ways that a commercial brand wouldn't usually do. I guess they've really found their niche. SM Department store showcased a lot of color blocking, sheers, and a lot of wide-legged pants and maxi's. Actually, you could see those from a lot of the collections. Trend of the season here I guess. Anyway, the week was fun afterall. Saw some old faces and met some new ones. And I must say, more and more are getting fashionable each season. I guess the fashion market here in the Philippines has really evolved. Oh well, a good sign for the future. See you all next season!
