Thought I would share with you a card I worked on for a swap I'm in with craftycardcreators@yahoogroups.com ...the theme for this swap is "Sketch Card Swap"......so it's more the layout you go by rather than a theme..........I thought and thought quite a bit then I saw this image of the rose and I just loved the soft colors of it...the rest went from there!!! The lacy sides on the border around the rose image is some lacy design I cut with my Cricut Expression ...have I mentioned lately how much I LOVE my cricut!!! :) I cut it out in white cardstock and then colored with my Tim Holtz Distress Inks......the layer they are attached to is a writing image I printed off...stippled the edges of it with the Tim Holtz Distress Inks then ran through a Cuttlebug embossing sleeve and then hit the raised surface with another color of the TH Distress Ink pad......and coated the rose image with Versamark ink then coated with clear embossing powder and heat embossed to give it a glossy sheen.....I raised this image up off the page with double stick foam....
I wrapped brown silky ribbon around the bottom portion took a scrap of white cardstock and stamped the Forever Friends words on the paper in my Stazon Black ink pad....stippled the piece with TH Distress Ink and the layered behind the metal oval and attached with brads.....
The image I printed for the background I also used as the paper I printed to then use my Cricut to cut out the envelope...That completes the card......I love the warm elegant look of the card...perfect for that special friend don't you think!!!!
