Ok….so I’ve had a BUSY weekend…. ;( I didn’t get to spend near as much time as I wanted to playing with Sable!!! HOWEVER…..What I did get to…..I had a BLAST!!! This is one AMAZING machine….and I truly truly mean this……
I wanted to get started off right getting used to her and understand how I needed to set up my mat and load the paper to coincide with MTC….Well I found this amazing video that Tyler Thomas with All That Jazz Supplies and I say it’s a MUST WATCH!!!!!!
When you cut with her…..OMG….She sounds so SOLID……you can just hear the quality of a machine it is….I hope that makes sense…but it doesn’t rattle…..doesn’t sound klunky…it’s smooth and precise…the cutting oh WOW…talk about detailed and close…you’ll see here in a minute when I show you how AMAZINGLY she does the print and cut!!!! But first I wanted to show you how well she wrote with just the generic pen housing that comes with it with a regular pen barrell….check this out!!!!!
You can see the settings I used under the the words……doesn’t it do a FANTASTICLY smooth job…..the letters do NOT look choppy or shaky at all…..very precise and wonderful…….I WILL be using this ALL THE TIME!!! and you can see as I increased the velocity (meaning how fast I had the machine draw) I didn’t lose any detail in the drawing….AWESOME!!!
A tutorial that I absolutely LOVED watching was from Tyler Thomas with All That Jazz Supplies that he did on using the pens with your Black Cat Cutters…check it out…I know you’ll LOVE it!!!!
Look at how detailed you get with the print and cut….no offset figures to key in…..it is what it is when you get your laser registrations set…you’re GOOD TO GO!!!! Here are some tutorials I watched on the Print & Cut with MTC that were SO HELPFUL…..

Then I wanted to master the Print & Cut feature…….OMG!!!!! You talk about WONDERFUL!!!! It does take a bit of time tweeking to get the laser registrations you need to know but once you have them down you’re GREAT TO GO!!!! I did this in both MTC and also in Sign Cut Pro/Inkscape……I’m attaching images here so you can see for yourself!!!!!

I have had this machine less then a week…and I CAN ALREADY TELL YOU….I am in LOVE!!! TOTALLY!!! And I know one day in my future I WILL be UPGRADING to a Cougar!!!!! I absolutely am head over heals with the Black Cat Line of cutters…I’ve had nothing but amazing customer service…..a quality product with tons and tons of potential….This machine is truly and sincerely 1000% times better then you could ever imagine the Cricut Expression being……
You know the biggest concern I hear from so many is they are taken back by the price….and you know I TOTALLY understand that if any new machine is out of your budget for now…and if you currently have a cutter that is working great for you now no matter what brand that is SUPER…BUT when it putters out……I strongly suggest you look into the Black Cat Line….If you think about the cost you pay say for the Cricut Expression even if you get it for a sale price of say $250.00 (and we all wonder how much longer you’ll be able to do that with the way they are raising the prices)……then you need cartridges so say you buy 4 cartridges over time now they’ve raised them to like $89.00 a piece…You do the math…there’s the price of a cutting machine right now…….However with the Cricut you’re stuck with cutting what is on those cartridges…BUT with the Lynx or one of the Black Cat Cutters your possiblities are absolutely endless….just something to mull over….
I have to say I thank ProvoCraft for finally pushing me over the edge……I am THRILLED THRILLED THRILLED to have my Lynx!!! I know she and I will have many many MANY happy years cutting away!!!!! And I’m looking so forward to using all sorts of mediums to create with her!!!!
Speaking of that…GUESS WHAT!!!! There is a NEW STORE opening up…..called All that Jazz Supplies…..it’s owned by Tyler Thomas…yep..the fella who did the AMAZING tutorials above!!!! Guess what he’s putting his focus on???? Mediums we can use with our cutting machines to create with that are all GUARANTEED to work with the Lynx and the Black Cat Cutter Family!!! I’m SO SUPER EXCITED bout this!!!! He’s getting Chip Board….Embossing Metal….Engraving Metal….(OMG just WAIT till you see what he’s done with Lynx and the Engraving Metal) I WILL be using this technique!!!…..and 81/2x11 Vinyl in lots of colors…and the list will continue to grow!!!!! You really really ought to check out his website All that Jazz Supplies…I know it’s on my favorites…….I’m going to be creating some projects in the coming weeks using some of these very products so you can see how AWESOME they are!!!!! I can’t WAIT to share the creations with you!!!! I hope you’ll check back to see!!!!
I am so so excited can you tell!!!! I have so many ideas floating around in my head…so many things I need to work on and my brain is just going a mile a minute…my goal for this weekend was to MAKE SOMETHING!!!! But that will have to wait til tomorrow!!! I MUST get some sleep..but I just HAD TO SHARE WITH YOU all that I’ve learned so far about this AMAZING MACHINE!!!! I am absolutely TOTALLY thrilled and most confident I made the PERFECT choice for a cutter!!!! The print and cut is 2nd to none!!!! the speed and quality is AMAZING……..It is VERY user friendly…it works AMAZING with MTC and it opens so many doors to ART possibilities I can’t wait to get started!!!!!
So if a new cutter is in your future..I really hope you might consider one of the Black Cat Cutters…..I know the Lynx is AMAZING!!!!
