Good Morning Everyone and HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!!! I hope you are all having a WONDERFUL week!!!! Welllllllllllllllllllllllllllll….I FINALLY came up with a card I like!!!! My ART mojo had moved out I think!!
But I’m glad it finally came back home!!! I wanted to create a card using several options for my new FAVORITE friend….Sable!!! ![]()
I wanted to see how well she would do detail cutting…….LOVE IT!!!!! as you can see below…some of the vines have very THIN stems on them and they cut BEAUTIFULLY…
I wanted to use the lattice technique on the card to see how well it would cut it…OMG…..once cut the little squares just fell out the cuts were so precise….no “hanging chads” here!!!!! Smooth BEAUTIFUL cuts!!!! Then I decided to take some ribbon that has little flowers on both sides and wove it in and out on the lattice….LOVE how this turned out…..
Check out the vines……see how THIN the stems are…..see how AMAZING they cut….NO TEARING…..no skipping….no snagging….AWESOME!!! And notice the paper of the veins….This is some GORGEOUS paper that my friend Gigi LOVES so I’m told by Sherri with Thatsscrapinc.com…..I’m “hoping” Tyler will be carrying it at allthatjazzsupplies.com cause it’s DEFINITELY on my WANT list!!!!!
I used my new pen holder tool…..the ones that are at thatsscrapinc.com…and…here’s a link directly to the pen holder… http://thatsscrapinc.com/pentool.aspx I just used a regular ball point pen……..so you do see a wee bit of skipping in the writing…that has nothing to do with the pen holder OR the Lynx….it’s all the pen….you know how those things can be…just when you need it the most it decides to stop writing…LOL…but it did a WONDERFUL job don’t you think!!!!!
I had done a print and cut of one of my digi stamps and then colored with my copics that I was “planning” to use on the card but my mind just kept going blank….it just wasn’t fitting for me…….but I thought I would show you that too so you could see that I took the digi stamp and created a shadow layer for it to cut out and it did it BEAUTIFULLY!!!!
Just shows you …you can create ANY print and cut from ANY digi stamp you like……no more having to cut by hand!!!! It’s AWESOME and I cut this so easily with my Lynx and MTC…….can also be done with Inkscape/Sign Cut Pro but that’s a different program so why not just do it in MTC if you can!!! IT SO ROCKS!!!!!!
One more thing I wanted to share with you…..Notice the display board I’m using to display the card and the above digi image….Well….It’s PRETTY DARN AWESOME as well!!! I had been contacted by Containyacrafts.com to see if I would be interested in giving a review of this item……They asked that I be honest and truthful about my feelings for the product…whether I liked it or not be sure to state so…….so here goes……
I was wondering just how I could utilize this since I do not scrapbook….I am Mixed Media ARTist and have such a passion for making cards….
Well it came in….and I have to tell you…it’s a very high quality product…It’s NOT cheaply made….it’s very durable…the covering is made of vinyl…so you would want to be careful not to use a craft knife on it……or stick any thing with it….BUT…it’s not a cheap vinyl either…..it’s got some weight to it…….so it’s sturdy…..the easel part of it is VERY nice!!!! it’s substantial enough to withstand the display sitting constantly at an angle with NO fear of it tipping over or breaking!!!
The grid sheets are very nice…and it comes with 2 magnetic rulers…very handy!!!! The magnets…and there are SEVERAL…16 to be exact…are GREAT….DEFINITELY don’t want where small kids can reach them…but very strong……the card you see above….I was able to hold completely on the board with one magnet on top of each corner of the card…didn’t slide at all and you could feel it had great contact with the board……you consider the layers it’s going through…..4 pieces of cardstock and ribbon woven into the paper….that’s a lot of thickness and it held it GREAT!!!!
I’ve decided I LOVE this Easel….It’s something that now has a permanent home beside my ART desk…..so I can keep my work in progress on this board where I can view it as I’m creating and visualize what I’m trying to achieve….while making this card I would not attach anything until I was 1000% sure I was happy with it…..but I wanted to be able to continue to look at it the way I “thought” I would end up doing it…this Easel was PERFECT for that….cause I was able to keep everything exactly where I wanted it to be!!!
Here’s a video she’s worked up on the Scrap’n Easel
and I know Christy at Creations by Christie has done a write up on it… http://creationsbychristie.blogspot.com/2011/03/introducing-scrap-n-easel.html
It’s a VERY cool tool to have in your ARTHaven!!!!!! If you would like to check out more about it…you can find out details here…..
Okie Dokie!!!! That catches me up for today!!!!! I’m SO SO SO over the moon thrilled STILL for me and Sable!!!! I absolutely LOVE this machine….I can’t wait until I can play with all the accessories and create create create!!!!!
THANK YOU so much for stopping by to visit with me!!!!! I really hope you like the card!!!!! I should be sharing some more new files soon as well so I do hope you’ll come back to visit with me….I hope you all have a VERY blessed day!!!! Until next time…
