I had the weirdest dream last night. Well, perhaps that's an overstatement as I'm known for having weird dreams. But last night's was different...
... I dreamt I got to buy a cottage on a remote Swedish island for next to nothing. It had no monthly fees, no electric bills no nothing. Just that 7000.- (£650) payment and the cottage was mine.
The cottage was situated at the very end of a little lane, close to the water yet still close to the local shop. The sheltered garden was full of weeds and stinging nettles, and so I started to pick the nettles to make nettle soup. As the shop was up a hill, I decided to buy a donkey as a means of transport. Also, I reasoned, the donkey could help me getting rid of all the weeds in the garden as well as keep me company if ever I got lonely.
As I was rearranging the rugs on the floor of my little bedroom I heard a car pull up outside the house. I looked out to see one of my severly autistic patients -however in my dream my long lost brother- getting out of the car...
... I ran outside and asked the people in the car who they were and why they were dropping off my long lost autistic brother without even preparing me or knocking on the door to inform me he was arriving? The driver looked at me apologetic and drove off.
I tried to catch the registration plate on the car to be able to trace the mystery people. I didn't get it. Luckily my very autistic brother knew it off by heart, of course.
The last thing I remember dreaming was putting my arm around the brother, showing him the spare room which obviously was to be his, going back to my own bedroom and grabbing the phone to try and trace the car's owner...
How peculiar. It was such a peaceful yet disturbing dream.
