Heath Ledger's Legend
Just as the Joker was the year’s most talked-about movie character, Heath Ledger is now the most buzzed-about winner of Hollywood’s awards season.
Ledger’s posthumous Golden Globe win last night for Best Supporting Actor may help lock in a similar triumph at the Academy Awards. Oscar nominations will be announced Jan. 22, one year to the day since Ledger’s untimely death at age 28 from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs.
That following Friday, Jan. 23, Warner Bros. plans to re-release “Dark Knight” in both Imax and regular theaters.
The way Ledger made headlines since his death ran counter to how he’d recently resolved to live his life. In a 2006 interview with the Daily News, the laid-back kid from Perth, Australia, admitted to “not taking things seriously” when he found fame in “10 Things I Hate About You” (1999), “The Patriot” (2000) and “A Knight’s Tale” (2001).
After Ledger’s death in New York, toxicology reports found that a combination of drugs normally prescribed for insomnia, depression, pain, anxiety and cold symptoms had killed him. Rumors flew that burrowing so deeply into the Joker took a toll on his psyche, requiring a cocktail of drugs to calm his mind. In truth, Ledger’s longtime issues with insomnia seemed to be exacerbated by an undiagnosed case of pneumonia he’d developed filming “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus” in London a month earlier.
As the year went on, and Ledger and “The Dark Knight” wound up on 10 Best lists, it seemed more and more inevitable.
Now the Globe win ups the ante. If Ledger gets an Oscar, he’ll be the first posthumous winner in a supporting category, and the first winner for a superhero movie.

The Investigation for Heath Ledger’s Death Is Closed
After almost eight months of finding nothing, the federal investigation into Heath Ledger's death has been officially closed. Mary-Kate Olsen was reportedly set to be subpoenaed later this month, but the U.S. Attorney's office apparently saw enough of the DEA going around the country interviewing models and actresses over an accidental overdose and shut the entire investigation down.
Well all I can say is that Heath’s death was due to an accidental drug overdose period. And kudos to him for his best ever portrayal of the Joker in the Dark Knight movie.

Dark Knight storms the world
Hundreds of Bat-fans descended on London's Leicester Square for the European premiere of The Dark Knight.Already a smash hit in the US, the latest installment in the Batman franchise, set a record at the United States box office, smashing last year's Spiderman 3 record.
On top of the box office success Heath Ledger's depiction of the Joker is already generating Oscar buzz and Christian Bale's tortured hero is even more intense than before.
"The thing that's good with this one, it had a lot of hype about it, but the hype is real, it really is a bloody good movie," said Christian Bale, actor.
Veteran actor Michael Caine, who plays Alfred Pennyworth the faithful butler to multi-billionaire Bruce Wayne, was also pleased with the films success.
"I was talking to one of producers and she said she went to a cineplex in the outskirts of New York and there were 18 cinemas all playing Batman and they were all full and so we must have done something right somewhere along the way but I saw the movie and I think it's wonderful." said Caine.
You know, this is just one part of Heath but he is so extraordinary in the movie, I think it is a wonderful way to honour that part of him," said Maggie Gyllenhaal, actress.
The Dark Knight released in the UK on July 25.

Heath Ledger May Have Been The Father of A Love Child
So here I am in the couch looking like a lazy potato, sitting infront of my newly bought HDTV and TV Wall Bracket; staring and watching out for news and gossip on the entertainment world. And there it is finally something worth to blog about. Breaking headlines: “Heath Ledger had a secret love child” Oh really?! This would be another scoop for our entertainment buzzers. Our beloved and reposed actor, Heath Ledger who just passed away last January 2008 due to an accidental drug overdose, is believed to have fathered a “secret love child” in 1997. Based from statements released by Heath’s uncle Haydn Ledger, he said that there was a ‘real possibility’ his nephew had fathered a girl with another woman who’s older than him. So assuming that it was possible that the Australian actor impregnated his former lover when he was 17-years old, so Matilda Rose isn’t the only one inheriting his father’s wealth, there will be two children. So what Heath’s already dead, let’s just leave it as it is. If he’s the father of that secret love child, then poor kid, he already lost his daddy. Let’s just hope that everything’s going to be fine and this issue would not end up being too exaggerated by the media.
