Golden glow for pregnant Jessica Alba and Kate Hudson

Glittering: Pregnant actresses Jessica Alba and Kate Hudson looked radiant in their full-length gold gowns at the Costume Institute Gala in New York tonight


They were surrounded by an array of beautiful, stylish women.

But with their radiant pregnancy glow, Jessica Alba and Kate Hudson went some way to outshine their fellow guests at the Costume Institute Gala last night.

The actresses both opted to dress their bumps in full-length gold gowns at the New York event, held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.


Stylish: Alba, who was accompanied by her husband Cash Warren, wore a Ralph Lauren gown for the event which this year is being held in tribute to Alexander McQueen


The Costume Institute Gala, one of the biggest events in the fashion calendar, is this year being held in tribute to designer Alexander McQueen, who took his own life last February.

Earlier in the night, Fantastic Four star Jessica, who turned 30 last week, tweeted that she would be wearing Ralph Lauren.

She was joined by her producer husband Cash Warren and was styled by Brad Goreski, Rachel Zoe’s former assistant.

Jessica, who already has a daughter, two-year-old Honor, is due to give birth at the end of the summer.

But while Alba's bump may still have some way to go, Hudson, who is engaged to Muse frontman Matt Bellamy, was looking positively blooming.

Jessica Alba giving Cash Warren a surprising and emotional birthday!

Warren celebrated his 30th with 80 of his family and friends at Tao Las Vegas in a celebration Saturday night put together with secrecy and military precision by Alba.

Telling her husband they were having a quick getaway to Vegas, the couple headed to Sin City on Saturday morning. After they checked into the penthouse at Palazzo Las Vegas, Alba, 27, took Warren to the Canyon Ranch Spa.

Following a day at the spa, the couple headed to Tao Las Vegas, where he was surprised when 20 of his closest family and friends awaited his arrival.

Following dinner of sea bass, Kobe beef and sushi, Warren assumed the surprises were over. As he relaxed in a private room, the door to the room opened as 60 more of his friends walked in with a birthday cake shaped in the number 30.

Warren began crying as he smiled at his friends and the cake illuminated by sparklers.

Aside from his friends, Alba also arranged for his favorite band, LA-based Deadly Syndrome, to play as his friends entered. Warren draped his arms around Alba and danced with friends during the 30-minute performance by the band.

He went on to thank everyone for showing up and said, "I would be remiss if I didn't thank my beautiful wife and best friend in the whole world, Jessica. I can't tell you how surprised and happy I was to see all of you. Those tears were real. I can't act. It doesn't run in the family. But it's tears of love for all of you. I was so surprised and happy to see all of you."

The group, which included LA Clipper star Baron Davis, then headed into Tao Las Vegas' nightclub. Alba, wearing a conservative black dress, reserved the three tables in the VIP area for the group.

Jessica Alba 'quietly' marries boyfriend

Actress Jessica Alba, who is pregnant with her first child, has married long-time boyfriend Cash Warren.

Alba, 27, best-known for her roles in the TV drama Dark Angel and the movie Fantastic Four, announced she was engaged late last year. The baby is expected in the summer.

According to People magazine, who spoke with her PR, Brad Cafarelli: "The couple quietly wed (on) Monday."

Her wedding was such a quiet affair that even her brother, Josh Alba, was apparently caught off-guard.

When reached by US Weekly magazine with the news, he responded: "My sister!? I'm going to have to call her!"

The actress met Cash, 31, a producer, on the set of the first Fantastic Four in 2004. After a temporary split last summer, the two reconciled and announced the impending birth of their child in December, and their engagement shortly thereafter.

"Being pregnant is kind of like a sedative," Alba has said.

"I don't get as anxious about things. Like right now, a movie coming out, you know, over analyzing everything."

The news follows endless speculation on whether or not the couple would marry, with US Magazine previously reporting that Alba had no intention of walking down the aisle with a baby bump.

Previous reports claimed that one of the reasons Alba and Warren broke up in the first place was because he didn't want to marry and "wasn't ready."

In the music video she is appearing, she is lip-synching to Panic! At the Disco's song "Nine in the Afternoon" in a coordinated video with employees at the site.

"I can confirm that Jessica and Cash are expecting a baby in late spring, early summer," says rep Brad Cafarelli.

Alba, 26, has dated Warren, 28, since the fall of 2004 after they met on the set of The Fantastic Four, on which Warren was a director's assistant.

In a scene in the movie, Alba can be seen topless with her back to camera.

The star has said in the past she would never do nudity on film, but said of this scene, “Nobody was in front of me, but the wall.”

She told America's Cosmopolitan magazine: "I just wanted to see what it was like to be with different people. I don't think a girl's a sl*t if she enjoys sex.

"I could have a one-night stand, and I'm the kind of girl who looks over in the morning and is like, 'Do you really have to be here?' I don't need to cuddle and do all that stuff because I know what it is and I don't try to make it more."
