Happy Thursday.....

I hope you've all had a wonderful day.....Guess What???!!! I actually had the chance to play with paper tonight!!!! Wahooo, for me!!! I made this quick card for a swap I was behind on for My ARTHaven Creations & Friendships The theme was Glitter....

I designed the card in Inkscape and cut with SCAL with my cricut......If you like the card template you can download it from My SVG page........I also used one of the flower files I've created in the past........It's a simple card but It does have a nice look....I cut out the envelope with a 5x7 envelope file I created in the past as well......All of these files can be found on MY SVG page .

While you're there you'll find 2 other new files I've created....I had a request for a Hot Air Balloon file and also I created a Star Frame......These files can also be found on MY SVG page !!

Ok, that's it for me tonight....I do have some other swaps I'll be working on this weekend and I have a few more cut files ideas floating around in my head....I do hope you will check back....As always...THANK YOU for stopping by to visit with me!!! I pray you all have a very blessed Friday!! Until next time....

I'm been having some funnnnnnnnnnnn.....

I just absolutely LOVE playing with Inkscape......I'm getting to where when an idea comes to my mind I'm beginning to sketch out ideas as quick as I can so I don't forget what I'm wanting to do.....I have an amazing beautiful journal coming my way soon from a very dear friend I plan on using for this very purpose......Anyway....I spent most of my day yesterday creating some files in Inkscape.........I love tags and just won't allow myself to buy blanks anymore so I decided to make up some cut files........I've done mock ups of them and also am putting a link under each mock up for the file if any of you are interested.......please feel free to grab them....

I didn't think you all wanted me to go in to great detail on how I quickly did the mock ups...BUT if any of you have any questions, PLEASE feel free to email me I'll be happy to help you out and explain what I've done pennyduncan@att.net .

Then I decided I wanted a box that would have a top to it...you know the kind that fold over and that's how it stays together.....so I designed and created one......I only created the one file.....all you need to do is make it a wee bit bigger and you have the top.......easy peasy!!!!!

Then this is an envie I created a week or so ago....I couldn't remember if I shared it or not and didn't want to take time to look .....LOL so I'm sharing here.......I cut it out of wallpaper and it cut like butter!!!!! I made it to fit the shudder card I make several weeks ago.......as I decided to put the card/envie set in my ETSY store......

Finally Something....

Actually made for my Etsy Store.....It's been so long since I've given my ETSY store some tender loving care.....I've got nothing in there right now but promised myself that would be one of my goals this week while I'm on vacation...So here's my first piece.....It's a Journal.....

I'm SO excited on a technique I experimented with tonight.......the background paper you see here with the marbling on it....It's actually Wallpaper........I designed my wording and graphics (dark green leaves & vine) in my Corel PSP and then PRINTED IT ON TO THE WALLPAPER with my Laser Color Printer.......It looks WONDERFUL....has such a wonderful permanent finish to it......After I printed my graphics onto the wallpaper I then layed out a cut file I wanted to cut into the wallpaper for a design....This WONDERFUL border you see down the left edge of the cover is a cut file designed by Paulo Guarmarous it's called "Wildborder.svg" if anyone is interested in the file you can visit his blog by clicking on his name and download it from his amazing site....I WARN you however.....You will absolutely positively fall in love with his ART....He is SO VERY talented!!!!!

Once I cut the design I then carefully removed the cut out and then lined the back with a piece of wallpaper that I had ran through my xyron to put adhesive on it and adhered that sticky side through the cutout and then covered with some bronze color glitter.......It's a nice subtle effect I believe....

I then trimmed the border of the front cover with decorative border ribbon and a bit of lace....wrapped a ribbon around and tied off added rhinestones and the flower I had designed cut and decorated the other day...the file for the flower is in a post earlier this week...just scroll down the page a bit to find it if you care to download the .svg file for it.....

I lined the inside front and inside back with a green decorative wallpaper and the backcover with the same pattern as the front and trimmed the edge with a bit more of the decorative border trim.........

I'm very happy with the design of the layout and look forward to getting it into my store.......

Ok, that's it for me tonight.....I want to thank you for stopping by....I do hope you come again soon.......I hope you all have a very blessed Wednesday!!!!

OMG!!!!....Can you say...

I'M DONE!!!!!! I can proudly say I have FINISHED the scrapbook for my boss and her family!!! I can't tell you how absolutely positively thrilled I am to have reached this point!!!! Can you tell I'm excited!!! :) Ok....thought I would share with you the last 4 pages I completed......I am quite happy with the way they turned out........As before I am sharing the pages with you first part of the post and then at the bottom of the post I'm sharing the files I created or graphics I used in the design..........

Ok, this first one I'm sure you can guess is for Daytona Beach.......I tried to give it the look of the sea.....I "think" I achieved that!!! I think the page really turned out fun......I'm sharing several photos of the layout so you can see all the layering and elements used.....

Check out the "netting" you know....like a fishing net.....know what it REALLY is....ummmmmmmm, it's an onion bag!!! :) How cute is that and a nice way to multipurpose don't ya think!!!!

You can see the layering I did on the Daytona Beach.....as well as the chair....I layered the cuts with foam dots to give it more of a dimensional look and feel......

Ok, this next one is for the "Grand Floridian"....this is one of the resorts they stayed at.....What a beautiful resort this is.....I wanted to give this layout a bit of elegance so I created a fancy frame cut with my cricut then rubberstamped and embossed with some swirly stamps.....I then took some Tim Holtz Distress crackle paint and painted a layer over it....once dried and the cracks showed up I then rubbed 2 different colors of Tim Holtz distress inkpads over them...I really like the aged antique look they have........

I like the way the logo turned out as well....on the bottom layer of the logo I used my xyron sticker machine and put a layer of adhesive on it and then covered with glitter....then used some raised dots under the G and F to give it more of a dimensional look......looks blingy don't ya think!!! :)

They also really liked the trams that went into the Grand Floridian and throughout a large portion of the parks...and they had requested they be incorporated into the page in some manner....what better way then to use as album covers......I found some images online of the trams.......printed them onto 4x6 picture paper...then scanned back into my computer..created a file in Inkscape so I could trace the areas I wanted to cut and incorporated an exterior edge...once I cut it out I lined the back with clear acetate......I'm thrilled also with the way these turned out....

If anyone is interested in the images of the trams and the .svg file I created from them, please email me privately...I'll be more than happy to share the files with you.........

Ok, next is the last pictures of MGM...not a whole lot happening on this page but I tried to make it as special as I could, found a logo and topiary online so printed out some images cut manually with my hand and a good 'ole pair of scissors then raised them up off the page........simple but I think it gives the page the "pop" it needs....

Then there's "Planet Hollywood"....I gotta say I'm tickled with the way this page turned out....Isn't it just full of colors that explode off the page!!!!! I found the Planet Hollywood image online of which I'm sharing below....I created a cut file of the words "Planet Hollywood" cut in metallic red cardstock and used raised dots to bring up off the original letters.....I used some glossy accents on the star and then covered with blue glitter.....gives the logo just the right amount of kick!!!

I took their pictures that were taken there and scanned them into my computer.....I then brought into Inkscape and created my cut images to give the pictures some 3D depth to them...as well as cut some of the flowers out indivually so I could scatter them on the page......I love the way this layout turned out!!!

Ok, now.....onto the files I created to make these pages.....I'm sharing the background pages I designed and created as well as the cut files and some of the png graphics I used in the layouts....If you find any on these of use for you, PLEASE feel free to download them......I would be thrilled if some of you like them....
