I am among the Living...

FINALLY.....I started feeling yucky on Sunday and have been under the weather for the past 3 days!!! I am SO glad to be going back to work tomorrow and feeling MUCH better!!! I've so missed playing with paper and had to get my fix as soon as I was feeling better...

I was able to complete an order I had for 4 tags...2 snowmen 2 santa tags.....got them completed and needed to do a Christmas Card I had a request for.....It was for a young man and they kinda wanted it to be funny....Know how hard that is when that's the only info you have to go with.....hummmmmm, so I knew the fella loved cars and there is an older Porsche in the family so that's what I went with...I found an image of an older Porsche on the internet and decided to convert it into an .svg file so I could cut the shape out with my cricut expression and layer it somehow.....WOW did it take some thinking of what to do once I had that done.....

I finally came out with something I think is masculine but not stupid...and made a good utilization of the image I cut with my cricut expression!!! I have to say I'm quite happy with it...I used metallic cardstock alot on this card...in black and silver.....did alot with my cricut expression too....

You can see on the envelope I did a box cut on with the cricut and layered the back with sticky paper and glittered as well.....I LOVE glitter and there are so many uses for it!!!! I also stamped, colored, cut out and added glossy accents to some holly leaves to give the card just a bit more punch......Just wanted to share with you what I created since I had been down and out for a couple of days!!!!

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by and visit with me.......I hope you all have a very blessed Thursday!!! Until next time....

Here we are again...

Another Friday!! Yippie Skippie!!! Another weekend to play with paper!!! BOY oh BOY have I had fun doing just that the last 2 days!!! You know the tag I made and showed you in the previous post....I was so proud of it I decided to take it to work to show it off......Can you believe I SOLD 10 of these tags!!!! Yahooooooooooooooo!!! I was so excited!!!

The person that ordered them said they could be a little different if I wanted......so I decided on three designs.......thought I would share all that I came up with......They are all 3D but it might be hard to see by looking at these pictures...but I think you can get the idea.....

The first set of 3 are Snowmen....isn't He CUTE!!!! I also took this image from a graphic on my computer and converted it to an .svg file then cut with my CE ......I LOVE this machine!!!

These next 3 are a set of different Snowflakes.....we all know no two snowflakes are ever the same!!! I LOVE the look of glitter on these!!! I deliberately tried to go outside the box on color of the snowflakes!!!!

Here's 4 of the Santa design......I still love santa!!! ;)

Ok....Here's all 10 together....I am VERY pleased with the way all of these turned out if I must say so myself!!! On the back of each of them I have stamped "To: and From:" The person is planning on using them on Christmas gifts!!!! Made my day for sure!!!! BTW...Have I mentioned lately how much I LOVE MY CE !!!! Best gift EVER!!!

I believe I used about a zillion different techniques on these tags and it was SO much fun getting the creative wheels turning in my head!!! I hope you all enjoy viewing these even a quarter as much as I had creating them!!! Thanks SO much for stopping by to visit with me....PLEASE come by again!!! I hope and pray you ALL have a very blessed day and a Wonderful weekend...please visit me again..until then.......

It's another Tuesday..

I was having serious paper withdrawls and decided it was time to play with some paper....I've been busy busy trying to learn the Inkscape and SCAL programs to use with my CE ....I'm getting there but it is taking time.....

Tonight I decided to take one of my graphic images I've collected over the years and make it into a .svg file that I could cut with my cricut......I'm PROUD to say I succeeded!!!! I made the Santa on the card with my cricut...then created the card to attach santa to....

Santa I cut out four different times....white/off white/black/red....then I pieced him together...I used an embossing pen to coat each white piece and then embossed with some glitter white embossing power....then coated the red with a burgandy embossing powder and embossed....the ball of his hat I used some dimensional glue then cut up some white yarn to make fuzz and stuck into the dimension glue.......I then used some distress ink aged paper and stippled all over santa to give him a bit of an aged look to kinda blend in with the color of tag I created.....

The tag I colored with 2 different distress inks that I smeared all over the tag.....used some of my pearl ex spritzers to give a bit of a glimer.....wiped the edges with some distress embossing ink and used some of my distress embossing powder in the rust color...embossed the edges....attached some ribbons to the bottom.....I had some floral pieces that I sliced the berries in half punched out some leaves to layer below the berries and attached the berries..added fibers and lifted santa up off the tag a bit and there ya go!!! I LOVE the way this card turned out!!!

So, what do ya think??? I would love to receive your feed back...please leave me your thoughts!!! Thank you so much for stopping by to visit with me.....please come again...until then....

Happy Hump Day....

I hope you are all doing well this evening!!! Already Wednesday...can you believe it....I've been having so much fun playing with my new toy.....This morning I started working on a card just because!!! I need to get my Christmas cards made so I thought why not play around to see what I can come up that I will want to make several of......Well, not sure if this one will be one of them that I make several of...BUT, I like how it turned out....

I can see there are a few things I might fine tune on this card...for instance the Happy Christmas....I did it with metallic cardstock and being so small it just doesn't look that crisp...part of my learning curve with my CE but it will be fun figuring it out!!! I cut the snowflakes, the words and the tree with my CE...then on the snowflakes I put glitter on the top layers....the tree I stamped a tree image with distress embossing ink and then embossed with some distress powder....The top layer of the card is photo paper that I embossed with my cuttlebug embossing template then stippled with two different color distress inks then spritzed with some Memories Mist Amaretto and wiped around the piece then trimmed with a copper colored metallic pen...I really like the overall look of the card. What do you think???

Until next time...

Happy Monday...

Everyone...I hope you all had a great weekend!!! Mine was full but fun....My oldest son, Billy, came and spent the weekend with us and he and his brother had a great time together!! Yesterday we celebrated Thanksgiving at Craig's side of the family and I made from scratch pumpkin pies...they were very good even if I must say so myself!!! :)

I did get to do some ARTing this weekend....I completed one project I'd been working on for a while...it's a purse that I crocheted and lined.....I thought it turned out very nice.....

I do not use patterns...I just create from my imagination...it is very relaxing for me to sit and crochet...can definately lose track of time.....

I completed a swap for a wonderful group I'm in called craftycardcreators@yahoogroups.com....this these was called "Keep it Jolly"......here's what I came up with....

It's a fun card....I loved interchanging the bows on the packages....I printed all the designs and the rubberstamped embossed and cut out...I also made an accompanying envelope....I love the dimension of this card!!!!

Ok...lunch is over, back to work for me.....I want to thank you for stopping by again to visit!! I pray you all have a wonderful week and great Thanksgiving!!!! Until next time...

IT'S FRIDAY!!!

Yippie Yahoo.....I'm so excited it's here....It's been a VERY cool week here and yesterday we even had flurries for several hours....It was the perfect kind of snow....was pretty coming down but didn't stick anywhere!!!!

Ok...So I did get to play a bit yesterday and have completed another swap I'm signed up for for the Hand_made_cards_with_care@yahoogroups.com group....The theme on this one was Christmas ATC's set of 3 to compliment each other.....I have a set of Christmas stamps I purchased this year that I LOVE and I find loads of uses for....so here's what I came up with!!!

So now this swap is complete I get to move onto another groups swaps I'm signed up for and I'm REALLY looking forward to those swaps as well!!! I will get to play most of the weekend with the exception of Sunday...we will be celebrating Thanksgiving with family on Sunday...but that's OK cause you know what that frees up!!! Yep you guessed it....I'll have 4 whole days just for ME and my PAPER!!!!

Ok, gotta get back to work...just wanted to share with you my latest....I really appreciate you stopping by and visiting with me again!!! I hope you all have a WONDERFUL weekend!!! Talk with you later...until then.....

It's been while....

Since I've posted....I have been having withdrawls from paper and posting....decided I WAS going to take time for me to do both!!!! I have several swaps I MUST get completed.....so I decided to get busy......So far I've completed 2 and thought I would share them with you.......

The first item is for a Christmas Tag Swap that a group of ladies I've been friends with for a very long time......we are to make one tag per participant.....this is what I came up with...Whew it involved ALOT of cutting, gluing, glittering and such.....

I am happy with the way they turned out though it definately gave my hand one heck of a workout with all the cutting......I had a few other things in mind I was going to do to them but decided I would settle with these results......I hope the ladies that receive them will enjoy them....

The next swap is for a group called Hand_Made_Cards_With_Care@yahoogroups.com the theme was Coffee.......I love the warmth of that word......I wanted to do something with dimension....which of course involves layers....I tried my best to minimize my cutting as much as possible...but I just had to do some......

You'll notice the layering I did and I also wanted to share that I made the "table cover" with some scrap white fabric and some lace...after sewing the lace to the fabric I then stippled some distress ink "Vintage Photo" all over the fabric/lace....then folded the fabric a bit and ironed down...kinda gives the look it's going over the edge of the table doesn't it?......

I am VERY happy with the way this card turned out and can't wait for it's recipient to receive it!!!!

I was talking with some friends the other day trying to get some better ideas for storing all my ribbons...I had been storing them in mason jars....and though they looked very nice they surely were not very functional.......My friend Diann gave me the WONDERFUL idea of using a shoe rack....she had seen or heard of it from someone online I believe......so I decided to think upon it a bit and give it a whirl....I think this system will work quite well for me....I thought I would show you what I came up with....

Ribbons that were off the spool I decided to wrap around tags and then keep them put with straight pins....

Fibers that I have that were stored in baggies I punched a hole in with a hole puncher and the put them on metal shower rings and hooked them to the shoe rack.....easy enough to remove to access easily....

I figured I could use a mason jar to store scrap pieces of ribbons to save to use on ATC's and such....

Then...you know how you can get those great little spools of ribbon from the scrapbooking section they are adorable ribbons and very little space taken up to store....well of course there's no holes in the spools...well the PERFECT item I found to hold them quite well is believe it or not and Oreo cookie tray......look now nifty they all fit in there!!!!

Ok......I believe I've about gotten you all caught up with what I've been up to lately......the other things I've been doing is trying to find the best possible solutions to work with my carpal tunnel in my right hand....you know it just doesn't seem to work well with an ARTist does it!!! Very aggravating!!! :( I am now making myself get used to one on those ergonomic keyboards...whew is there an adjustment curve there!!! But I'm determined I will master it....

I am definately looking forward to Thanksgiving....4 days of relaxing and spending it in my ART Studio.....we will be celebrating Thanksgiving this year with family on Sunday...my youngest will be having Thanksgiving in Tennessee this year and my oldest will be at other family.....so I'm looking forward to a very quite 4 days!!!! No shopping for me on that Friday!!! But it will be the perfect weekend to work on Christmas items!!!!

Well.....I as usual want to THANK YOU for stopping by to check on my latest creations!!! It means so much to me....I hope you all have a wonderful remainder of the evening and a very blessed Wednesday (HUMP DAY).......I'll talk with you later....until next time.....

Happy Sunday....

I hope you all had a wonderfully breeeeeezzzzzzzzyyyyy day today!!! Brrrrrrr for sure around here......I was able to be productive a bit today...thought defiantely moving slow....I needed to get a swap completed for a group I belong to hand-made-cards@yahoogroups.com the theme was Merry Christmas......Here's what I came up with...

Cute I think....a bit different then what I usually do...I tried to incorporate a sizzix die...which is why I did the scroll......the color restrictions for this card was that you were only supposed to use Red & Green......two very strong colors I thought....but I'm ok with what I came up with!!!

Ok, enough for me for the night....I'm going to work on some crocheting I need to get done...I hope you all have a cozy warm remainder of your Sunday!!! Until next time....

Happy Tuesday....

Everyone....I hope you all have had a wonderful day!!! Whew it has been cooooollllll here today.....Our morning started out at 32° and I believe our high was 49°...Fall is here fall is here!!! I must admit, however, it is a nice change of pace!!!
I couldn't stand it any longer......I just HAD to play with paper today!!! I started this card this morning and finished it this evening......It looks simple but elegant don't ya think.....I am REALLY happy with the way it turned out and will be making more of these!! The tree and the Happy Holidays are some new stamps I got this weekend....Great purchases huh!!! Me thinks so!!

I stamped the Tree with pigment gold ink and sprinkled ultra fine embossing powder on it, shook off the excess and embossed with heat gun.....took a gold pen and went around the edges of the black linen cardstock.....then I took some black and gold ribbon I ALSO got this weekend placed at the bottom below the tree.....then stamped with pigment gold ink the happy holidays and embossed as I did the tree....cut it out and put some raised dots on the back to lift it up off the ribbon when I adhered......

Behind the top layer of cardstock I put a layer of wallpaper...I also scanned the wallpaper to make my envelope and the inside layer of the card!!! I adhered the layer of wallpaper and the top layer to the base of the card which is black linen cardstock!! I printed the inside layer and also a phrase.....Whoala!!! Simple and elegant!!!
I had fun making this and it just makes me want to make more and more!!!! So what have you all been creating!!! I am SO looking forward to this weekend being able to stay snuggled up in my cozy home in my awesome ART Studio creating away!!! Doesn't that sound FUN!!! :)
I, as always.....want to THANK YOU for stopping by to visit with me!!! I hope you enjoyed my card!!! Please remember to come back and visit with me again!!! Take care, may God bless you all.....until next time.....
