Here's some

Svg files I created for some cards I've made......here's a view of the svg file imported into SCAL.....I did this Butterfly Crossing layout just as a 5x7 cut out and then used it as the front layer of my Butterfly Crossing shaker card.....I'm showing you an image of it below.......in case you wanted to see what I did with it.....

If you would like to have this file you may click here or on the image above.

This next one is a Thank You card I created.......the "Thank You" design with all the swirls actually gets totally cut out of the frame but I embellished that in a way to give it a bit of a leather look....you can see that in the image below.......

This shows how the card turned out with the way I decorated it.....if you would like to have this file as well just either, click the image above or click here to download this file...
I hope you like these files....as I create in the future I would be excited to share with you all if your interested....please leave me come comments so I can get the feel for the kind of things you enjoy seeing!!!! As always, thank you so much for stopping by to visit with me!!! Have a blessed evening!!! Until next time...

Oh what fun I've been having.....

Why do I always do it to myself....I always seem to wait til the last minute to create swaps I've commited myself to....You'd think I would learn my lesson but I think I've realized I just enjoy the pressure I put on myself....NOT..... :) Anyway, I was determined to get 6 pieces of ART created today that I had commited to doing and just wanted to share with you what I came up with.......

This first one is for the ATC Swap with CraftyCardCreators @ Yahoo Groups.......It's a choose your own theme swap.....so I decided to personalize the ATC for the recipient.....I did design my layout in Inkscape and cut with my Cricut Expression.......as well as rubberstamped, stippled and layered......I think it is a very cheery ATC!!!!

This next swap is entitled "Butterfly Crossing" doesn't that sound like such a pretty pretty theme!!! Well I again designed my layout in Inkscape and cut with my Cricut Expression....this card had ALOT of cutting in it and I am totally thrilled with the outcome..It is a shaker card which is my new favorite card to make!!! The possibilities are so out there with this type design!!! I love EVERYTHING about this card!!!

Ok......now the next one....the theme for this card was "Country Days".......I wanted to do something that shouted Country.....I do believe I achieved that!!! Can you believe I didn't use my Cricut on this card...LOL.....boy was it tough to hold myself back!!! hehehe.....but I do still indeed like the outcome of this card!!!! It has a nice warmth to it and I love the addition of the buttons to it!!!!

Now the next theme was "Happy Birthday".....I tried to think a little outside the box on this one...perhaps I didn't achieve that goal but I do like what I came up with!!!! I again used my Cricut for parts on this card....embossing sleeve and I cleverly (at least to me anyway) cut a circle with my Cricut (NO that's not the clever part!!!) :) but then I placed it perfectly on my paper and ran through my printer and printed happy birthday in different fonts on the circle....I really like this technique and know I will use it more in the future!!!!

Ok....This next one is the "Sketch Swap".......I wanted something extremely cheerful and I think I achieved that!!!! I love the colors yellow and green together.......I used my Cricut Expression on the words but the rest was the good old fashion way of cutting!!!!

And then finally....there's the "Image Swap".......I don't like just making a card each month with the different images which are chosen to use so I always try to create something different....This time I came up with the idea of a Pin........I used the Cricut Expression to cut several Ovals that I then layered together....I then ran one of the ovals through my printer and printed the image I prepared.......rubbed the edges and sides with some green distress ink....punched some holes at the bottom then put several layers of modge podge over the piece to seal and coat.....once dried I placed the beads to the pin then glued the pin back to the back.......I really like the vintagy look of this and to think....it's made with cardstock.......

I felt I was on a roll today and certainly had fun......however I wish I would handle my creative time better......It's not like I don't have alot of me time!!! :) Thank you SO much for stopping by to visit with me and allowing me to share my ART with you!!! I hope you enjoyed what I've created and perhaps gain a few ideas!!! Please come by again....until then....

Oh My Goodness...I made it!!!!

Talk about a LONG night!!! But boy did I have fun!!! I have definately gotten my fix of paper the last 2 days!!! Feel like I've done a Marathon!!! I had requests for a total of 7 cards for Valentine's Day!! Can you say WOW!!! I had completed 3 of them on Wednesday which I shared with you yesterday morning......Well, while at work yesterday I received a request for an additional 3 cards!! Talk about making me feel good!!!

So, here's the first one...This is for a little girl I believe is 6 years old.....I love the soft loving colors don't you......

The next is for a little boy I believe is 3!! Doesn't ALL boys love Monster Trucks!!! Hopefully he'll enjoy this card too!!

Ok...This next one is for a co-worker....He and his finace' are getting married in a couple of months.....they own a chincilla (sp?) so if you look carefully inside you'll see a surprise of confetti of pictures of their Chichi!! This card is very deep but would be a great card to frame after Valentine's Day as a rememberance of this special time in their lives!!

And this last one is for another co-worker....it's for his wife and I have to say I love this card!! The soft delicate colors of the card with the ribbon and butterfly I think set off this card!!!

I must say I am above myself thrilled with the outcome of these cards!!! Very labor intensive but oh so worth it to me!!! I love detail and embellishment.....and I believe each of these cards I've created have exactly that...They are each one of a kind and I pray they are as special to the recipients as they are for me to have made them!!!

The Muse is Coming Back!!!

I have been feeling rather poorly this week and had lost my muse!!! What a better way to get it back then to get some card orders!!!! :) I've received an order for 4 cards......I have been able to complete three of the 4.......did them last night and this morning........1 masculine & 2 kids Valentine Cards........Once I came up with the ideas in my head I had alot of fun with them!!!

This first one is a Shaker Card and it's for a man..........the script reads..."You are my Everything Happy Valentine's Day" I created the layer with wallpaper and my cricut expression with the Inkscape and SCAL software....I just LOVE my cricut and the software...I know I've said it before but I just have to say it again....Possibilities are absolutely endless!!!!

This next card is for a girl....she's 9 and a sweetheart...I used of course my Cricut Expression, CDS, embossing sleeves and more!!! I HAVE to share with you the gorgeous green strip with the red ribbon threaded through it is some of one of my really good friend's handmade paper....you've got to check out her store..Chrystal Schilling she is VERY gifted with her ART of handmade papers.....The inside of the card will have a very cute phrase which I shall complete this evening...

This 3rd card is also for a girl whom I believe is 12......she's a very mature 12 and I thought these colors would make her smile!!! I did alot of layering with this card and I love the soft colors....It will as well have a cute saying on the inside in reference to the ballons.......

All in all I'm thrilled with these 3 cards and look forward to finishing them up and creating one more this evening....The last one I have to create will be for a female...I'll be sure to share it with you!!! Thanks for stopping by to visit with me....PLEASE come by again...until then....

The Weekend's About over....

I hope everyone has enjoyed their weekend....It's been a VERY pleasant weekend here in Kentucky, not humid and a bit breezy outside!! Perfect weather actually!! I'm so glad to hear those impacted by the one hurricane faired fairly well...I certainly hope Ike decides to hightail it back to sea and leave everyone alone!!!

I spent most of last week and the first part of my weekend organizing my digital images!!! Talk about a job and a half!! I believe I FINALLY have somewhat control over them now....I am an organizational nut and can't stand things to be out of place....the images were driving me crazy because I couldn't find anything.....SO, some 40+ hours and 40GB of images later I found the light!!! :)

So, after I had that task behind me I allowed myself some time to play with paper!! I was surely missing it!! I had an Anniversary card I needed to complete for an order I had received.....The woman is wanting it for her husband.....so I wanted it to be masculine......I used images from my computer...(which I organized!!! LOL) the rectangle on top I printed out then put through my sizzix with an embossing sleeve I have then used a copper & gold sharpie around the edges....I used a bit of sandpaper over the raised images to give it a bit of a distressed look......then I took some Antique Gold rub-on cream and swatched it over the embossed card.....The base of the card is a shimmer dark gray...then I used a background image and sized it to the size of my card and used is as the bottom layer....adhered my embossed paper to the top of it....below that I RS the word "memories" and embossed with a copper colored embossing powder....I added a decorative accent and then a rhinestone square to the center of that......On the inside of the card I did a matching background and typed a beautiful poem.....

Of course my card would not be complete without a matching envelope...that I printed with my large format printer and cut out the envelope......I do believe it looks quite masculine....It is now winging it's way to the person who ordered it...I do hope she likes it!!

Then I had an ATC swap for ATC_World yahoo group I belong to...the theme is "Shaker Card".....I am SO in the mood for Fall...and I just love Fall colors..and I currently have a fasination with leaves...I decided to make my shaker part crayon papers layered over some aluminum and punched with one of my small leaf punches in 3 different color designs I had previously created.....

The background of the ATC I stippled with 2 colors of my Distress Ink Pads then ran the stippled cardstock through my printer and printed the image of the tree on the cardstock.....I also printed a transparency sheet of the trees.....remembering to print it in a mirror image so you can see a depth in the tree when layered over the bottom layer.....I also then printed a decorative frame image I have and sized to the ATC size of 2 1/2"x3 1/2"...then I cut the middle of the frame area out and glued the transparency image to the backside of the frame.......

Once that was completed I put a layer of foam tape all around the parimeter of the bottom card...placed my punched crayon colored paper/aluminum leaves inside and placed the frame/transparency sheet over the top to enclose the leaves.....when you shake it you see the leaves move.......I printed off a phrase I have which I felt was perfect for the card full of Autumn and then wrapped the ribbon around the bottome 3rd of the card......And that's it....that's my ATC...Here it is if you want to see......I also took an angle shot so you can see the depth of the card and the leaves inside......

I have several more swaps to work on.....but I wanted to share with you all what I've created so far!!! I was getting so envious seeing and hearing about what all my ARTist friends were creating and I had grounded myself til I had my task at hand completed...that it felt so good to finally get to play that I took my time with these two pieces!!!

I made extras of the ATC...so if there is anyone out there who would like to do a one on one swap with me with this card or the Window Shuttered ATC card I did a couple of weeks back....I would be happy to make a swap!!! I LOVE ATC's and have my ART Studio walls covered with the ones I've received through the years!! I love looking at them over and over because they fill me with so much inspiration!!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful start to their week and you all stay safe!!! I as usual want to THANK YOU ALL for stopping by to visit with me!!! I pray you all sleep well and have a SUPER Monday!!! Till we chat again!!! Bye for now!!

Happy HUMP Day!!

Hello everyone...been a few days since I've been able to post...been busy trying to complete an ATC swap I was in and I had an order for a card!! The ATC is for a swap I'm involved in with ATC_World@yahoogroups.com the title of the swap is "Shuttered Windows"..I came up with this idea and though I LOVE it...it about whipped my butt!! The ATC is definately 3D and even has real curtains..and window panes!! :) Isn't it cute!!

Now This next piece of ART is for an order for a card a friend requested for a cousin of her's that lives in California....She left the creation all up to me and this is what I came up with.....To me it shouts Fall is coming!!! I did an angle shot as well because there is alot of intriqite work done on the flowers and butterflies as well as the birdhouse and leaves....I love things that show texture....the flowers and butterflies I backed with aluminum (soda cans actually) and cut them out..this allowed me to shape them the way I wanted them and they would hold their shape...worked wonderfuly! Additionally on the flowers I wanted the fuzzy feel on the center of the flowers...so I took some brown yarn and chopped it up real fine...then used come Matte Accents by Inkabilities made by Ranger and covered the center of the flower and put some of the fuzzy yarn there...It looks and feels amazing!! I layered the birdhouse and all the embellishments over a layer of wallpaper then two different colors of cardstock.....the base of the card is brown....I printed the inside paper with the same wallpaper design...as I scanned it and printed it...then I made a matching envelope!! Turned out quite nice I think!!

Also thought I would share with you some ideas that popped in my head the other night......The first was my Dymo label maker.....I like how you can make the raised words...however I never really liked the colors available....SSSSOOOOO, I had this brilliant idea of using my alchol inks to cover them in a marble type pattern....then I sprayed with a matt fixitive and it worked wonderfully!!! Take a look.....

Then...since that worked so well I decided to take an aluminum can and cut it apart to use the inside of the can and I stamped with Stazon ink a dragonfly.....dabbed the background and edge with alchol inks...painted the wings and dragonfly with pearlized paints then took some Glossy accents by Inkabilities made by Ranger over the wings to give it a shiny look......

BUT.....my creations with the aluminum cans didn't stop there.....I thought..."hummmmmmmm..wonder how it would do embossing the aluminum"....so I got out some of my brass templetes and tried using a stylus to emboss the metal....didn't work well...THEN...a light bulb went on!! (Yes that does happen from time to time....:) )....I tried using my Sizzix die cutting machine (you know the one you probably have sitting around collecting dust as mine did) and it is AWESOME!!! Take a look at what I dabbled in.....I flipped one of them over so you can see it is really a soda can!!!

See, I have this friend named Angie who is WONDERFUL with recycling things into her ART...so it's got me thinking and rethinking everything I touch anymore!!! LOL...so I thank Angie for giving me the desire to want to THINK of what I'm throwing away!!!!

Well, guess that's about all my updates for this evening.....I need to get those things posted into my ETSY store that I was supposed to do on Sunday.....I want to thank you all for stopping by and visiting with me.......I do hope you come again...leave me a message if you want...I LOVE seeing them......And most importantly...I pray you all have a safe evening and a blessed tomorrow!!

Happy Thursday...

Everyone....Hope you all are having a great week.....I got to play with paper last night and had loads of fun!! I was trying to create a piece of ART for a group I'm involved in http://groups.yahoo.com/group/paperimagerydesigns/ it's really a great group of people....The challenge is to create an ATC using a PID image....here's what I came up with...the image is the little girl.....

I did this ATC in 3D and thought it might be easier to get the total affect if you were able to view it at an angle so I took a shot of it that way too......

The very back layer of the ATC I created using alchol inks....which I've fallen in love with!!! and a couple of tree stamps I have stamped with distress inks.....the layer just below the top layer is a stamp of a wooden wheel barrell with flowers...I stamped with stazon brown because the paper was kinda glossy then colored with my Zig markers....I really had fun creating this card as it made me work outside my comfort zone.......

I just love working on swaps because it allows one to stretch their creative muse into areas they might not have thought of before...I definately plan to do more of these....I'm just bummed because there is definately more projects I want to do than time in a day......why oh why must one sleep!!!! :(

Today I must do that thing called....work....then I'm coming home to play more with paper....and only one more day and it's FRIDAY!! My baby goes to Tennessee this weekend and my hubby knows where I'll be...in my ART Studio!! :) I hope you all have a WONDERFUL day today...talk with you later...and as always...Thanks for stopping by, come again soon!!!
