Happy Valentine's Day

I hope you have all enjoyed the special day with your sweethearts!!! My hubby and I went out to dinner last night as he had to work today...but that's ok.....he's still my valentine!!! My older son....Billy wanted me to make a special card for his girlfriend....he came up with the idea of wanting wings a calla lily (Amy's favorite flower) a rose (Billy's favorite flower) and a heart.......he gave me the wording and wanted me to create something for him.........

So, this is what I came up with.......I did alot of cutting of the wings, flowers and heart...but it's ok.....at least it wasn't a zillion of them...I did use my cricut for the wording....I also used some of my cuttlebug embossing sleeves but because the paper was larger than my sizzix opening would allow I decided to use my pasta machine....worked WONDERFULLY!!!!! Opens up so many ideas!!!

On the heart I used some Glossy Accents by Ranger on the rubys to make them look 3 dimensional.....gave the heart a really nice affect!!!

The words I of course cut with my cricut and then you can see the inside element pops up with the card is opened!!! I REALLY like the way the card turned out!!!!

Billy called a few minutes ago and said Amy LOVED the card....she has it on top her entertainment center so everyone can see it!! She called and told me it was the most awesome card she's ever seen...Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh, made my heart smile!!!! She's a keeper for my son I think...she has such a sweet gentle heart and she understands my baby!!! What more could a ma'ma want!!!!
Ok, thank you so much for stopping by to visit with me!!!! I love sharing my ART with you...please come by again.....Have a blessed remainder of the weekend....until next time....

Oh My Goodness...I made it!!!!

Talk about a LONG night!!! But boy did I have fun!!! I have definately gotten my fix of paper the last 2 days!!! Feel like I've done a Marathon!!! I had requests for a total of 7 cards for Valentine's Day!! Can you say WOW!!! I had completed 3 of them on Wednesday which I shared with you yesterday morning......Well, while at work yesterday I received a request for an additional 3 cards!! Talk about making me feel good!!!

So, here's the first one...This is for a little girl I believe is 6 years old.....I love the soft loving colors don't you......

The next is for a little boy I believe is 3!! Doesn't ALL boys love Monster Trucks!!! Hopefully he'll enjoy this card too!!

Ok...This next one is for a co-worker....He and his finace' are getting married in a couple of months.....they own a chincilla (sp?) so if you look carefully inside you'll see a surprise of confetti of pictures of their Chichi!! This card is very deep but would be a great card to frame after Valentine's Day as a rememberance of this special time in their lives!!

And this last one is for another co-worker....it's for his wife and I have to say I love this card!! The soft delicate colors of the card with the ribbon and butterfly I think set off this card!!!

I must say I am above myself thrilled with the outcome of these cards!!! Very labor intensive but oh so worth it to me!!! I love detail and embellishment.....and I believe each of these cards I've created have exactly that...They are each one of a kind and I pray they are as special to the recipients as they are for me to have made them!!!

The Muse is Coming Back!!!

I have been feeling rather poorly this week and had lost my muse!!! What a better way to get it back then to get some card orders!!!! :) I've received an order for 4 cards......I have been able to complete three of the 4.......did them last night and this morning........1 masculine & 2 kids Valentine Cards........Once I came up with the ideas in my head I had alot of fun with them!!!

This first one is a Shaker Card and it's for a man..........the script reads..."You are my Everything Happy Valentine's Day" I created the layer with wallpaper and my cricut expression with the Inkscape and SCAL software....I just LOVE my cricut and the software...I know I've said it before but I just have to say it again....Possibilities are absolutely endless!!!!

This next card is for a girl....she's 9 and a sweetheart...I used of course my Cricut Expression, CDS, embossing sleeves and more!!! I HAVE to share with you the gorgeous green strip with the red ribbon threaded through it is some of one of my really good friend's handmade paper....you've got to check out her store..Chrystal Schilling she is VERY gifted with her ART of handmade papers.....The inside of the card will have a very cute phrase which I shall complete this evening...

This 3rd card is also for a girl whom I believe is 12......she's a very mature 12 and I thought these colors would make her smile!!! I did alot of layering with this card and I love the soft colors....It will as well have a cute saying on the inside in reference to the ballons.......

All in all I'm thrilled with these 3 cards and look forward to finishing them up and creating one more this evening....The last one I have to create will be for a female...I'll be sure to share it with you!!! Thanks for stopping by to visit with me....PLEASE come by again...until then....

Happy Saturday......

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend......for the first time in a very long time I've been able to be quite productive so far this weekend.....I've completed 5 swaps I'm signed up for have them all packaged up and ready for mailing on Monday morning...as well and prepared some cards as thank you's and mailed them this morning....Yahoo for me!!!!

I had so much fun playing I thought I would share the items I made for the swaps I'm in......I won't bore you with all the little details I did on all of them but if you have ANY questions, PLEASE feel free to ask I'd be MORE than happy to explain how I did any of these!!!!

This first one is for a "Just Because" swap I'm in with http://craftycardcreators@yahoo.com I really like the way this turned out!!!

This next one is for a "Sketch Layout" Swap for http://craftycardcreators@yahoo.com ....The one thing I'm so proud of with this one is I created my own "nestabilities" type layers....in Inkscape then imported into SCAL and cut with my cricut expressions....I didn't have to use any of the cartridges I have with my cricut to make these or any other image to convert...I was very thrilled with how they turned out!!!!

This next is the "Recipe Card" Swap with http://craftycardcreators@yahoo.com .....I created this recipe myself and have made it SEVERAL times and it is a BIG hit!!! YUMMY and very moist!!!!

This next is for the "Image" Swap with http://craftycardcreators@yahoo.com I took the image and created a heart template from it with my inkscape program then imported into SCAL and cut with my cricut.....I made a book out of this and am very thrilled with the results.....It was fun and challenging at the same time......

Ok, this last card is for a "Valentine" Swap I'm in with http://handmadecardsforeveryone@yahoo.com I tried to think outside the box a bit and a quite happy with my results!!!!

I am having THE BEST TIME playing in my ART Studio and enjoying all my creations....I have a few more items to work on....one will take some time as it is a book......I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Sunday and I do so hope you come back to visit with me!!!! THANK YOU for stopping by.....Until then....

Good Morning Everyone......I feel like I've been in the dark ages!!! We had the wonderful winds from Hurricane Ike roll through Robards, KY yesterday and knocked out our power from about 10:00 a.m. til 8:15 p.m. last night......I felt like my arms had been cut off!!! I can so feel for the poor souls that were so much more impacted then my slight inconvenience.......I was never so excited as to see my reach to the world come back on last night!!! :)

However I DID have a very productive Saturday....I had much fun playing with paper and wanted to share with you all what I created!!!! I had several swaps I'm signed up for in a yahoo group I belong to.....as I needed to get these completed so I could create some ART for my store I had to get busy.....Just thought I would share with you what I created!!!!

First is a "Folded Pocket Card" Swap with Tags......I created my own 2 sided paper and printed...using the paper also in my tags.....as well as the matching flowers...also incorporated some of my crayon papers in the leaves...also used rubber stamps and gold metallic pen and ribbons! I'm sharing the tags as well as the holder....

The next item I want to share with you is for an "Anything Goes" Swap.....I decided to make a Post-It Holder.....I'm wanting to make some of these for my store and I thought I would try out my idea on this swap.....Again I printed my background papers I wanted to use so I could have them compliment each other......Using yet again some of my crayon papers in the leaves....I cut a bunch of grapes from the image sheet covered with versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder.....I glued the inside and outside designs together...of which I had printed onto cardstock to give the holder some substance....I used velcro fasteners to close.....You can also noticed that I embossed with my sizzix the front flap and the top item on the holder.....trimed each layer with my gold pen...This worked out rather nicely and I will be making more....

The next these was "Tag" swap......You know how I LOVE IF....so I used my sissiz with a flower die cut the aperature from the design I had printed......then I did my IF technique with some decorative papers I printed.....cut the paper to the desired size and trimed the top to give it a tag shape...I layered it over cardboard and then backed with the same paper......added ribbon with a charm at the bottom, the embellishments at the top and complimentary ribbon.....I love the effect.....I also included a close up of the IF for you to see!!!

The last creation I made was for a "Halloween - Purple, Orange & Green" swap.....The base of the card is black, then I layered with a green background design I printed, then with a purple designed paper, then orange that I added a web graphic to each of the 4 corners.....I trimmed each of the layers with a gold pen....the image is a fun graphic that I printed and ran through my sizzix to emboss and trimmed with gold pen, layered over a piece of black cardstock and OF COURSE added some of my crayon leaves.....I layered 3 different colors of ribbon on each other and put the ribbon under the image layer.....I love the look of the card and think it looks very fun!!! I also made a matching envie to accompany the card!!

So, now that I've gotten to share with you I feel much better!!! I missed my connection to the world!! LOL

I also completed an order I had for 2 cards and 2 book thongs.....so I was a busy bee...I will defiantely be in my ART Studio when I get home from work today......and I'm excited to say I've received an order for 5 cards and a book thong!! Yippie for me!!! So a creating I go!!!

I can't tell you how much I truly appreciate you stopping by to visit with me!!! I pray each and everyone of you have an amazingly blessed day!!! Be safe and I'll visit with you later!!! Until next time!!!!
