Hey Everyone….I hope you’ve all been enjoying your weekend!!! It’s been a rainy cool weekend here but at least it allowed me some time to ART some!!! The past couple of weeks have been a bit nerve racking as we lost our car to flood waters a couple weeks ago…but THANKFULLY the Lord provided and protected and we’ve been blessed to be able to get a different vehicle……So now that stress is gone my mojo decided to come back and visit!!! 
I knew I wanted to make something Mixed Media related but just wasn’t really sure what I wanted to do…..so I fall back to what I love the most…..Roses!!! I know I know…you’re probably SICK of them by now but not me!!! They are my favorite flowers……..But I wanted to change up my flower file a bit so I made a grungy one….then incorporated them into my Mixed Media piece….wanna see how it turned out?????…….
Now keep in mind….before I show you…..this started out as a paper mache yucky cardboard colored box, vinyl, white cardstock and chipboard…….
The PDC 3D Birdcage I cut with the .022 chipboard I get from AllThatJazzSupplies.com and cut with my Lynx……then I colored with my Distress Stain daubers in the Walnut Stain then coated with perfect medium and coated with Walnut Stain Distress Embossing Powder and heat set…….
The rose border you see around the box I cut with tan vinyl that I also got from AllThatJazzSupplies.com and used one of Paulo’s Rose borders and tweeked it a bit to make it double sided …once I cut it out I took some alcohol inks and mottled the vinyl a bit…….
The roses all started out as 110# white cardstock…….which I cut with my Lynx the PDC Grungy Rose file I’m sharing below and made stamens in the middle with crafter’s floss and some of my home made color fluff stuff……I also created some Vine files so I could add some vines to my project…..
For the bird in the birdcage I used one of Paulo’s Swirly Bird files and then accented with some Vintage Glass Glitter……the box I coated and painted using some crackle techniques…..added the feet and then also the flower trim around the vinyl border……
I will be placing this piece in My ETSY Store for anyone who might be interested in it……

One more thing…LOL…I know I know…I’m almost done!!! LOL You know I am LOVING my new machine…the Black Cat Lynx….Wellllllllllllllllll…I have to BRAG about this cutting line!!!! Talk about a feather in our cap!!!! Check out this FANTASTIC review on the cutters on the market…….Guess what cutter line came in FIRST PLACE!!!!!?????? Yeppers…You GOT IT!!!! The Black Cat’s!!!! How AWESOME is that!!!! The review was done before the new Lynx came out…but I’ve NO DOUBT it would have been on the top of the list as well as it is an AMAZING piece of equipment!!!!!!
